INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: do not tighten any clamps or nuts and bolts until the last step!! Before cutting any pipes it is a good idea to lay out all the included pipes along side the vehicle and get a good idea of how the pipes will hang on the vehicle. Please read the instructions fully and thoroughly before you begin. Support the vehicle in a safe manner. We recommend the use of a drive on shop hoist if available.
1) Remove the old exhaust system at the inlet of the muffler, leaving only the y-pipe, the converters, the converters to muffler extension pipe, and the O.E. rubber hanger mounts on the truck.
2) Install the inlet of the y-pipe to the O.E. extension pipe, using a 2-1/2” clamp to connect the two pieces. The exhaust will jog in towards the drive shaft for clearance of the frame. Connect the wire hanger on the y-pipe to the O.E. rubber hanger above.
4) Install the right front tail pipe (it has 3 bends, i.d. end is inlet) to the y-pipe using a 2-1/4” clamp.
5) Install the right rear tail pipe (1 bend) to the right front tail pipe using a 2-1/4” clamp.
6) Before the bend in the right rear tail pipe, install the BR91930 hanger to the frame using the enclosed 3/8” hardware. (This hanger may need to be bent slightly on the metal strap portion for clearance. There is an identical hole on the bottom of the frame on both sides of the truck to slide the hardware up into the frame, and through a hole up and in. Attach the hanger to the frame and connect to the right rear tail pipe using a 2-1/4” clamp.
7) Trim the right rear tail pipe to length if you wish. Install the muffler tip onto the right tail pipe. Use a 2-1/4” clamp to secure the tip to the right rear tail pipe.
8) Install the left front tail pipe (3 bends, i.d. end is inlet) to the y-pipe using a 2-1/4” clamp.
9) Install the left rear tail pipe (5 bends) to the left front tail pipe using a 2-1/4” clamp. The left tail pipe is routed between the shock and the spring.
10) Repeat step 6) for the left side, the hanger should go just before the last bend in the left rear tail pipe.
11) Mount the other muffler tip to the left rear tail pipe (trimmed to length if necessary) using a 2-1/4” clamp.
12) Tighten all clamps, nuts, and bolts. Check for leaks and for clearance of all brake and fuel lines, and for clearance of all chassis and frame components. We recommend tack welding the joints (not necessary though).
