& 5.9L V-8 AND SINGLE 2-1/2" EXHAUST AFTER THE CONVERTER.
THIS KIT FITS ALL WHEEL BASE MODELS.
NOTE: DO NOT TIGHTEN ANY CLAMPS OR FASTENERS UNTIL THE LAST STEP!
NOTE: FOR REGULAR CAB SHORT BOX, YOU WILL NEED TO TRIM THE Y PIPE
AND EXTENSION PIPE. YOU WILL NEED TO CUT AN INCH OFF THE INLET OF
THE Y-PIPE, AND CUT 18” FROM THE O.D. END OF THE EXTENSION PIPE.
1) REMOVE THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AT THE CLAMP BEHIND THE CONVERTER
LEAVING ONLY THE ORIGINAL Y PIPE, RUBBER MOUNTS FOR HANGERS (EXCEPT FOR
THE TWO REAR HANGERS), AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON THE TRUCK.
FOR QUAD CAB AND EXTENDED CAB MODELS INSTALL THE INCLUDED EXTENSION
PIPE TO THE CONVERTER PIPE. NOTE: ON MOST MODELS THIS
IS STAINLESS STEEL PIPE. YOU MAY WANT TO USE AS MUCH OF THIS O.E.
PIPE AS POSSIBLE AND CUT THE INCLUDED EXTENSION PIPE ACCORDINGLY.
NOTE: THE FRONT PIPE WILL NEED TO BE CUT TO FIT THE SHORTER WHEEL
BASE MODELS. THIS PIPE FITS EXTENDED CAB MODELS WITHOUT CUTTING.
2) FOR THOSE WITH REGULAR CAB MODELS, CUT OFF 18” OF THE 2-1/2"
O.D. END OF THE 22-1/2” EXTENSION PIPE, AND ALSO TRIM 1” OFF THE INLET
OF THE Y PIPE. SLIP THE FRONT PIPE INTO PLACE AND SLIDE THE
2-1/2" CLAMP ON THE PIPE. NOTE: THE INLET OF THE FRONT PIPE
IS NOTCHED TO FIT THE O.E. PIPE.
3) INSTALL THE Y PIPE TO THE EXTENSION PIPE USING A 2-1/2”
CLAMP. USE THE 2-1/2" HANGER CLAMP TO ATTACH THE Y PIPE TO
THE O.E. HANGER MOUNT ABOVE. MOUNT THE HANGER TO THE FRONT O.E.
RUBBER MOUNTS.
4) INSTALL THE RIGHT TAIL PIPE TO THE Y PIPE USING A 2-1/4"
CLAMP.
5) INSTALL THE LEFT TAIL PIPE TO THE Y PIPE USING A 2-1/4"
CLAMP. THE LEFT TAIL PIPE GOES UP OVER THE PUMPKIN AND BETWEEN
THE SPARE TIRE AND THE SHOCK.
6) INSTALL THE RIGHT TAIL PIPE EXTENSION (11”) TO THE RIGHT TAIL
PIPE USING A 2-1/4” CLAMP (IT IS STRAIGHT).
7) INSTALL THE LEFT TAIL PIPE EXTENSION TO THE LEFT TAIL PIPE
USING A 2-1/4” CLAMP (IT HAS A BEND).
8) INSTALL A BR91930 (360 DEGREE SWINGER HANGER) TO THE RIGHT
TAIL PIPE AFTER THE REAR AXLE, BUT BEFORE THE JUNCTION OF THE TWO TAIL
PIPE PIECES. YOU WILL NEED TO BEND THE HANGER AT A 90 DEGREE
ANGLE FOR PROPER FIT. USE THE BOLT, LOCK WASHER, LARGE
WASHER AND NUT TO CONNECT THE SWINGER HANGER TO THE FRAME. THERE
SHOULD BE A LARGE HOLE APPROPRIATELY LOCATED, BUT IF NO HOLE IS
PRESENT, DRILL A 5/16" HOLE IN THE FRAME. CONNECT THE SWINGER
HANGER AND THE TAIL PIPE USING A 2-1/4" CLAMP.
9) INSTALL A BR91930 (360 DEGREE SWINGER HANGER) TO THE LEFT TAIL
PIPE AFTER THE REAR AXLE, AND AT THE JUNCTION OF THE TWO TAIL PIPE
PIECES. AGAIN, YOU MAY NEED TO BEND THE HANGER FOR PROPER
CLEARANCE. USE THE 5/16” X 1” BOLT, NUT, LOCK WASHER, AND FENDER
WASHER TO CONNECT TO THE FRAME AT THE EXISTING HOLE IN THE FRAME (DRILL
ONE IF NECESSARY). USE THE CLAMP USED IN STEP 7) TO CONNECT THE
JUNCTION TO THE FRAME.
10) TRIM THE TAIL PIPES TO YOUR DESIRED LENGTH. INSTALL THE
TIPS TO THE TAIL PIPES USING THE 2-1/4" CLAMPS.
