TIGHTEN CLAMPS UNTIL THE LAST STEP!!
1) Support the vehicle in a safe way, using either a shop hoist or frame contact stands. Remove the exhaust after the converter (the muffler and tail pipe), leaving the o.e. rubber hanger mounts in place.
2) Install the #523022 reducer bushing to the inlet of the muffler (center in).
3) Install the inlet of the muffler to the o.e. pipe after the converter using a 2-1/2” clamp.
4) Install the tail pipe to the muffler using a 2-1/2” clamp.
5) Install the wire hangers that are on the tail pipe to the o.e. hangers above.
6) Check for clearance of the frame and body, and of all brake and fuel lines. Position the tail pipe so as to maximize clearance. When you are satisfied with how the system hangs, tighten all bolts and clamps.
