INSTRUCTIONS FOR KIT #2005705                SINGLE 3” KIT     # 50-5919

FITS 1999-2004 FULL-SIZE GM ½ & ¾ TON 2WD & 4WD PICKUPS W/4.3L V6, 4.8L & 5.3L V-8 ONLY WITH 2-3/4" FLANGED EXHAUST AT CONVERTER.  THIS KIT FITS ONLY REGULAR CAB SHORT BOX MODELS.  DOES NOT FIT 5.7L, 8.1L, 6.0L. 

NOTE:  DO NOT TIGHTEN ANY CLAMPS OR BOLTS UNTIL THE LAST STEP!

1)  REMOVE THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AT THE FLANGE BEHIND THE CONVERTERS LEAVING ONLY THE ORIGINAL Y PIPE, RUBBER MOUNTS, AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ON THE TRUCK.  YOU WILL NEED TO REUSE THE ORIGINAL NUTS OFF OF THE O.E. FLANGE.  DISCONNECT THE FACTORY HANGERS FROM THE ORIGINAL SYSTEM, LEAVING THE RUBBER HANGER MOUNTS IN PLACE. 

2)  INSTALL THE FLANGED FRONT PIPE TO THE CONVERTER FLANGE.  YOU MAY NEED TO TAP THE FLANGE ONTO THE BALL JOINT WITH A HAMMER TO INSTALL.  ROTATE THE PIPE TO CLEAR THE CROSS MEMBER AND INSTALL THE ORIGINAL NUTS LOOSELY ON THE FLANGE.  INSTALL THE WIRE HANGER THAT IS ON THE FLANGED FRONT PIPE TO THE O.E. RUBBER HANGER MOUNT.

3)  INSTALL THE MUFFLER TO THE EXTENSION PIPE (CENTER IN, SIDE OUT) USING A 3 CLAMP.

4)  INSTALL THE O.D. END OF THE FRONT TAIL PIPE EXTENSION TO THE MUFFLER USING A 3” CLAMP.  INSTALL THE WIRE HANGER THAT IS ON THE FRONT TAIL PIPE EXTENSION TO THE O.E. RUBBER HANGER MOUNT ABOVE THE FRONT TAIL PIPE EXTENSION.

5)  INSTALL THE TAIL PIPE TO THE FRONT TAIL PIPE EXTENSION USING A 3” CLAMP.  CONNECT THE WIRE HANGER ON THE TAIL PIPE TO THE O.E. RUBBER HANGER MOUNT ABOVE.

6)  TIGHTEN ALL CLAMPS AND BOLTS AND CHECK FOR CLEARANCE OF THE FRAME, BODY, AND BRAKE AND FUEL LINES.

DANGER WARNING:  SHOULD THE PURCHASER DECIDE TO INSTALL THIS, OR ANY OTHER EXHAUST PRODUCT AT HOME, BE WARNED THAT PLEASURE CAR OR LIGHT DUTY TRUCK/VAN "BUMPER JACKS" ARE INTENDED FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY.  THE USE OF FRAME CONTACT JACK STANDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A FLOOR JACK AS MAIN SUPPORT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO MINIMIZE ACCIDENTAL DROPPING OF A VEHICLE WHILE THE INSTALLATION PROCEEDS.
