TURBO MUFFLERS OR AN EQUIVALENT 2-1/4” SINGLE OFFSET MUFFLER.
GLASS PACKS MAY BE USED WITH SOME MODIFICATIONS.

NOTE: THIS KIT RUNS DOWN THE RIGHT HAND SIDE BETWEEN THE FRAME
AND DRIVE SHAFT.

USE OF FRAME CONTACT JACK STANDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A FLOOR JACK AS
MAIN SUPPORT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO MINIMIZE ACCIDENTAL DROPPING OF A
VEHICLE WHILE THE INSTALLATION PROCEEDS.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: DO NOT TIGHTEN ANY CLAMPS OR NUTS UNTIL THE LAST STEP!!
1) REMOVE THE EXISTING FRONT CROSSOVER AND SINGLE EXHAUST
SYSTEM. CUT THE FRONT CROSSOVER AND REMOVE THE FLANGES.
REUSE THE FLANGES FROM THE ORIGINAL FRONT CROSSOVER.
2) INSTALL THE LEFT (#E991) AND RIGHT (#E992) MANIFOLD PIPES
USING THE ORIGINAL FLANGES. YOU WILL NEED TO USE YOUR ORIGINAL
MANIFOLD STUDS AND NUTS. TIGHTEN ONLY ENOUGH TO HOLD IN PLACE.
3) INSTALL THE LEFT (#E989) AND RIGHT (#E990) EXTENSION PIPES TO
THE MANIFOLD PIPES USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS. CLAMP LIGHTLY INTO
PLACE. NOTE: FOR VEHICLES REQUIRING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS TO
MEET EPA GUIDELINES, PART# 73-7774 OR EQUIVALENT (2-1/4” IN/OUT) SHOULD
BE INSTALLED IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF THE MUFFLERS. SEE DRAWING.
4) INSTALL THE MUFFLERS TO THE END OF THE EXTENSION PIPES (SINGLE
OFFSET TURBO, NOT INCLUDED IN THIS KIT) ONTO THE FRONT EXTENSION PIPES
USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS. IF YOU SHOULD USE LONGER STOCK-TYPE
MUFFLERS, ADDITIONAL PIPE MAY NEED TO BE CUT FROM THE ENDS OF THE
EXTENSION PIPES. ROTATE THE MUFFLERS FOR CLEARANCE FROM THE DRIVE
SHAFT AND FRAME. THE MUFFLERS NEED TO BE INSTALLED VERTICALLY FOR
CLEARANCE.
5) LOCATE THE CROSS MEMBER IN THE FRAME AT THE REAR OF THE
MUFFLERS. DRILL A 3/8” HOLE AND MOUNT THE LB4 HANGERS TO THE
FRAME USING THE INCLUDED 3/8” X 2” BOLTS, NUTS, AND SNAPPER
GROMMET. REMOVE THE STOCK RUBBER HANGER AND SPRING BRACKET FROM
THE REAR CROSSMEMBER. THEN CLAMP THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AT THE OUTLET
OF THE MUFFLERS TO THE HANGERS USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS. DO NOT
TIGHTEN YET!!!
6) INSTALL THE LEFT (#E995) AND RIGHT (#E996) FRONT TAIL
PIPES TO THE MUFFLERS. NOTE: THIS KIT WAS DESIGNED TO FIT
133” W.B. TRUCKS. SHOULD YOUR PICKUP HAVE A SHORTER WHEEL BASE,
IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO REMOVE THIS LENGTH. THIS CAN BE DONE BY
CUTTING IT OUT OF THE STRAIGHT SECTION GOING INTO THE MUFFLERS ON PART#
E996 & E995. SHOULD YOU HAVE A LONGER WHEEL BASE THAN 133”,
ORDER PART #13000 FROM YOUR DEALER.
7) INSTALL THE LEFT (#E993) AND RIGHT (#E994) TAIL PIPES TO THE
FRONT TAIL PIPES USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS. YOU WILL NEED TO CENTER THE
HUMP IN THE LEFT TAIL PIPE OVER THE REAR AXLE HOUSING FOR MAXIMUM
CLEARANCE (SEE DRAWING).
8) MOUNT THE REMAINING LB4 HANGERS AND HARDWARE TO THE FRAME NEAR
THE REAR EXIT LOCATION OF THE TAIL PIPES, WHERE THE TAIL PIPES CROSS
UNDER THE FRAME. DRILL HOLES IN THE FRAME IF NECESSARY.
CLAMP THE TAIL PIPES TO THE HANGERS USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.
9) MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE PARTS OF THE SYSTEM ARE CLEAR OF FRAME
MEMBERS, ALL HOSES, SUSPENSION, AND BRAKE AND FUEL LINES.
STARTING AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, TIGHTEN ALL CONNECTIONS AND
NUTS. MAKE SURE ALL PARTS ARE CLEAR AND WILL NOT LEAK OR
RATTLE. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF DRIVING RETIGHTEN ALL BOLTS.
